What's a Mews (myo͞oz)?

If you've wandered down one of the cobblestone lanes that dot London's West End, you know how peaceful and social these mews can be. Originally built at the turn of the century as coach houses, today these homes are some of the most sought after in the city. Children play in the traffic-free lanes while neighbors garden and bbq. Yet all the conveniences of the city are a short walk away. When we set out to design our very-first VALIhood, we knew we wanted to do far more than just build homes that are good for people and the planet. We also wanted to create a sense of community, spaces where neighbors interact, and a haven from the rush of daily life. Similarly tucked in the midst of Phoenix's most dynamic neighborhood, the 4 villas at Ocotillo Mews offer a peaceful, yet connected, urban sanctuary.
